Interfacial structure between TiN sintered ceramics with and without an Fe-containing grain boundary phase and Ag–Cu eutectic brazing filler material

Abstract To focus on the interfacial reaction between Ag–Cu alloy layer and TiN in active metal brazing, brazed structures Cu two types of sintered ceramics fabricated by different methods were examined. No grain boundary phase components consisting Ni-containing Fe or Mo 2 C detected surfaces liquid-phase ceramic bonding before brazing. The specimens heated at 850 °C for 0.5 h. Cu/TiN solid-phase was obtained. bonded onto grains through an Fe- segregation layer. This formed dissolved liquid phase.
